Knauf opens IT Service Center in Altus office building in Katowice
Knauf, the leading provider of building materials, has leased roughly 1 300 sq. meters of office space on the 12th floor of Altus skyscraper, the tallest building in Upper Silesia, Poland, where the company has located its IT Service Center. Colliers International represented the tenant in lease negotiations.
Altus is one of the most recognized office buildings in Katowice and in the south of Poland.
This 30-floor mix-use building (125 meters high) has a total of over 63 000 sq. meters of space. There are service points, restaurants, fitness club and underground parking for over 560 cars along with a car wash. At the premises there is also a hotel with a conference center. One of the most important advantages of Altus is its location in the very centre of Katowice at 13 Uniwersytecka St., in close proximity to, among others, Spodek arena, International Convention Center and Ziętek roundabout.
“The dynamic development of the modern business services sector in Katowice agglomeration and the increase in the supply of modern office space encourage investors such as Knauf to locate their BPO, IT and SSC centers here. We can assume that Silesia will soon welcome tenants absent so far in this region” – said Barbara Pryszcz, Regional Director at Colliers International in Katowice.
Knauf is a building materials provider, which has been strengthening its strong position on the Polish market since 1994. The company manufactures and sells its products on 5 continents in 80 countries, generating sales on average at EUR 6,4 billion a year.
“We have just moved into the first part of the office space and are pleased that Altus is fitting into our needs. Our new IT Service Center required a modern, centrally located office with good infrastructure nearby, which would be attractive to our new employees. Altus was a perfect match. Altus tenants are also entitled to benefit from tax reliefs stemming from placing their operations in Katowice Special Economic Zone.
